Paata and Keti Kurdiani
Kurdiani Architects is an architecture practice in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Over four decades the studio has worked at every scale of building — private villas and interiors, hotels and restaurants, embassies and ambassadors' residences, cultural buildings, offices, and large residential complexes — almost all of it built in Georgia.
Paata Kurdiani
Chief Architect
Paata Kurdiani graduated from the Architectural Faculty of Tbilisi Polytechnic University in 1984, and spent the following six years at the Head Office for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Georgia, working on the reconstruction of the historical centre of Tbilisi.
From 1990 to 1993 he collaborated with the architect Kurt Hoffman in Lausanne, Switzerland, on a business centre and hotel in Batumi and a hotel in Tbilisi. Back in Georgia, between 1994 and 1997, he carried out the arrangement of the embassies of the European Union, Great Britain and Greece together with residences for their ambassadors and senior diplomats, and an office attached to the United States Embassy.
Since 1998 the practice has built private villas and apartments across Tbilisi, Tsavkisi, Tskneti, Saguramo, Manglisi and Krtsanisi, alongside commercial and public commissions — bank and company offices, the interiors of the cabinet, reception and meeting room of the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, and, increasingly, hotels and large residential buildings.
He works in Georgian, Russian and English.
Keti Kurdiani
Architect
Keti Kurdiani earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Faculty of Architecture at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 2006. In 2007 she expanded her technical and design expertise through international internships at the renowned yacht manufacturer Pershing in Marotta, Italy, and at the Tbilisi-based CAD/CAM Engineering Center supporting CERN.
As a key creative collaborator working hand-in-hand with Chief Architect Paata Kurdiani, Keti contributes across the studio's portfolio of residential, commercial and public architecture. Her approach balances clean contemporary forms with intuitive functionality and careful attention to material detail. Working closely with Paata across every design phase, she ensures each project embodies the firm's dedication to quality, structural harmony and distinct architectural character.
Beyond structural design, Keti brings a deep passion for landscape design and the building of natural freshwater pond ecosystems — weaving living natural environments into the studio's built concepts.
She works in Georgian, English, Russian and Italian.
