Hotel "Savaneti" in Ikalto, Georgia
The complex began with the reconstruction of a traditional peasant house — a floor was added and the large balconies of the first two storeys were glazed, giving 8 rooms. A 50-seat restaurant hall and kitchen were built onto the house, and then a swimming pool (18 × 6 m) was added, its changing rooms partly enclosed within the building so that it can be used in winter.
At the next stage a new hotel building of 50 rooms was built — three storeys with a mansard, and a tower — its ground floor holding the reception and a large restaurant. The client asked for “traditional country”, and both the client and the guests fully accept it as such, although the only traditional element is the brick used on the walls.
